The UKC’s Midweek Group get bonding
in Bournemouth

Eleven men from UKC’s gay men’s group, Midweek, shrugged
off the grime and grind of the city for a fun-filled weekend ‘retreat’
by the sea in Bournemouth.
The happy trippers enjoyed kite-flying, naturism, boat trips, alternative
therapies, relaxing, partying, sunbathing and all-round bonding.
The group members organised the trip themselves in an attempt to get to know
each other better and find
empowerment in a more relaxed environment. Kirk, a group member, said: “I
was quite unsure about going but when I got there it was fabulous. I felt
complete freedom and at one with myself.”
Newly diagnosed Michael said: “It’s great to be around other positive
people.”
Midweek is the UKC’s gay men with HIV group. It meets every Wednesday,
7-10pm, at UKC offices, 250 Kennington Lane, London SE11. Newcomers are always
