the UKC Hero Award 2002
The UK Coalition of People Living with HIV and AIDS (UKC) is proud to
announce Sir Elton John as the first recipient of its Hero Award in recognition
of his outstanding contribution towards the continuing fight against HIV
and AIDS in the United Kingdom.
The Hero Award will be formally accepted at a Gala Charity Dinner to be
held in London in the New Year. Beneficiaries of the fundraising event
this year will be the UKC and The Globe Centre (the HIV charity nominated
by Sir Elton John).
The Hero Award will be announced annually by the UKC on World AIDS Day
as a thank you from positive people to individuals for their exceptional
work within the HIV community in the United Kingdom.
