I continue to access alternative medicine. I believe in it, it works
for me, but it's by no means an easy choice. Like taking combination therapy
it requires a lot of routine and discipline. I too struggle with the issues
of adherence and the consequences of not sticking to a regime. The kitchen
cupboards are overflowing with vitamins, minerals and oil supplements,
herbal medicines, strange teas, tofu and organic veg, whilst my enema
kit swings from the shower rail in the bathroom. There are days when I
just can't be bothered with it all. |

nicer I can feel after a pint of freshly-juiced carrots. A quiet little voice in my head (don't tell my daughter, she'll have me sectioned!) starts up a mantra, whispering the cure for my hangover (no it's not a coffee enema). "Hair of the dog, hair of the dog," it says. I consider it for a moment. I can justify it with the homeopathic principle of treating like with like. So me, I'm off for beer and chips. Organic of course. |
