positive nation

and, while my status is negative, I would like to

help ensure that the HIV self-help ethos does not become lost in a sea of pseudo-professional mismanagement. My own local GP is a lovely female doctor but is a little clueless (and she will admit it herself) when it comes to issues of HIV/Aids. The nurses at my health centre are also extremely interested in HIV issues but have limited knowledge or experience. This area is just outside of Leeds and Bradford but it might as well be 100 miles away, people here are so often ignorant of such issues. This being the case, how can GPs in areas like this realistically provide adequate and effective provision and appropriate funding allocation? Answers on a postcard please...

I picked up the September and October issues of Positive Nation yesterday at the hospital and had to tell you how good they are, and what a good job you're all doing. Thank you.
