Many women spoke of continuing instances of bad practice around the country, especially amongst doctors. They said there was a continuing tendency amongst many professionals involved in the care of women with HIV to make the decisions for them, rather than making the effort to tailor care to individual needs. Capital's HIV nurseries in crisis

Both of the capital's nurseries for HIV-affected children are under threat following moves by local health authorities to withdraw funding.
The Brian Shaw Children's Centre at Lighthouse West, which was only opened by the Prince of Wales last November, has been squeezed by a move from local health authority funding to local authority funding. The centre has been losing money and a proposed switch to a means-tested service in the future could mean that many HIV positive parents may not be able to afford to send their children, or must rely on benefits.
Darren Woolf, THTL's Director of London Services, said: "We definitely won't close,

but will in future have to prove to funders that we fulfil specialist needs like
