The only other specialist HIV nursery is the Mildmay Hospital's nursery in east London.
Jeanette Meadway, clinical director at the Mildmay, said: "Most children born here now from a positive parent are HIV negative. HIV-affected children are no longer deemed to require special health needs.

Seamless services for the south

A new coalition between the voluntary sector, health authorities and councils has been launched to modernise HIV services in south London.
The South London HIV Partnership is an alliance of 10 councils, five health authorities and five charities. It will now provide HIV social care services for the next three years across the south of the capital, including counselling, peer support, skills development, transport, and advice services.

The voluntary organisations involved are the Terrence Higgins Trust/Lighthouse (THTL),
