HIV health worker wins right to anonymity
An NHS specialist who is HIV positive has won an injunction against the
Mail on Sunday newspaper to stop them naming him or identifying his speciality.
The Department of Health said that patients will no longer automatically
be told when a healthcare worker is HIV positive.
Vitamin makers fined $750 million
Vitamin manufacturers, including major firms like Merck, Roche and BASF,
have been fined a record $752 million by the EU for overcharging and operating
an illegal price cartel. "This is the most damaging series of cartels
the commission has ever investigated," said EU commissioner Mario
Monti.
