RIP-OFF BRITAIN
positive nation

global pharmaceutical market. Tyagi told me: "European prices vary between 50 to 80 per cent

of US prices. The pricing policies in some European countries may be hindering access to some drugs. People are paying higher prices, in the sense that they are taking longer to get them".
Whatever the right and wrongs of the case, it does seem as if our European neighbours are generally better able to get lower nationwide price agreements on drug prices than our NHS. And this is going to have serious implications when HIV treatment ceases to be 'ring-fenced' within the NHS and hospitals are going to have to apportion funds for HIV drugs alongside those needed for the treatment of other conditions - all from the same finite kitty. Is HIV going to lose out?
