addition, the healing energy or Qi that travels up our spine and through
our meridians finds it far harder to circulate.
The trouble is that whenever we get stressed out or anxious our muscles
tighten, our breathing becomes shallow and our heart rate and blood pressure
increase. Our whole body TIGHTENS UP. It is essential to release this
tension, and let off steam, stretching out our lungs again, and helping
our body RELAX. So stretching out our lungs and muscles and maximising
our spinal flexibility will help our body heal much faster.
Time to work
Our body can only heal and repair when it is in a state of rest. Maximum
self-healing occurs during deep sleep when our body is totally relaxed
and our immune cells can travel easily through our lymph channels to where
they are needed. So deep, restful, quality sleep is fundamental to achieve.
But sleep alone is usually not enough and we also need to give our body
rest breaks and time to 'chill out', rather than pushing it at full throttle
for 14 hours a day.
The right building blocks
Big Macs, Mars bars, Lucozade, Haagen Dazs, Pepsi, Frosties, Smirnoff,
Special K, to name but a few, are common allies to help us cope with stress,
but are disastrous at helping our body fight HIV. Your body - 'IT' - needs
enough quality protein, fibre, fatty acids, minerals vitamins, and water,
given at the right time, in the right combination to help fight disease;
our minds - 'WE' - need a large pepperoni
