of the HIV negative readers.
Our columnists are significantly more popular with women and, unsurprisingly,
our personal ads are significantly more popular among our HIV positive
readers (and especially black readers) - but nearly one in four HIV negative
readers scan them too!
One in five readers had 'done something' as a result of reading about
it in Positive Nation. Individual results varied from 'meeting my wife
through this magazine' to political involvement such as answering the
Sexual Health Strategy questionnaire and writing to their MP.
Your lifestyle
About 50 per cent of you are in paid jobs - up from one-third in the last
Readers Survey in 1999. Not unexpectedly, more than one in three readers
earn under £10,000 a year - meaning they're probably on benefits.
But another third earn over £20,000, and one in 20 more than £40,000.
Positive readers unsurprisingly earned less on average, and were two to
three times as likely to be living in publicly rented housing.
But you are optimistic about your future prospects. Three to four times
more of you expect your job and money prospects to improve than those
who think they will get
