"THANKS FOR BEING THERE..."
positive nation

One reader commented: "I like Positive Nation, but used to find it upsetting when I was newly-

diagnosed."
Stephen Bitti is Chief Executive of the UK Coalition of People Living with HIV and AIDS (UKC), who publish Positive Nation. He commented: "The 'newly-diagnosed' comment highlights an issue to be resolved, which the UKC is addressing.
"The statistics are telling, and the comments section is particularly reflective of positive people who I speak to.
"Continued ease of access to Positive Nation for all positive people, both newly and long-term diagnosed, is the responsibility of the magazine, but also of positive people and those involved in HIV provision and support. The magazine thrives on the energy of its contributors, and is as representative as those who write in.
"Positive Nation has proven itself to be an essential and informative magazine that people trust."

Sex and relationships: Only 10 per cent found us useful on 'getting the sex I want'. Maybe people thought this meant dating, where we meant negotiating safer sex and relationships. Interestingly, negative readers found us more useful in this field than positive ones. Heterosexual readers were particularly likely to want information on sex and relationships, and gay readers wanted honest comment on subjects like negotiated unprotected sex ("no slapped wrists" said one).
