The UKC Hero Award 2003 shortlist
  • Last January it was Sir Elton John - this time it's up to you.
  • The UKC Hero Award is the annual award for an individual who has made an outstanding contribution towards the ongoing fight against HIV and Aids in the UK today.
  • In 2003 we will be adding two more awards - the UKC International Hero Award and the UKC Corporate Hero Award.
  • For the UK award this year - as we intend to from now on - we asked you, the readers of Positive Nation, to put forward their heroes. And you did. With difficulty, we narrowed it down to eight names.
  • It's a truly diverse list - male, female, black, white, HIV positive and negative, workers, carers and public speakers. All representative of the multifaceted community of people involved with Aids in the UK today.
  • Only one can be the hero. They all deserve it. We're glad we don't have to make the choice. Because IT'S UP TO YOU.

Send your choice to us and the top Hero will receive their award at London's Dorchester Hotel on 30 January 2003.
