A collection of children’s art will be previewed during an exclusive dinner on World Aids Day at London’s Grange City Hotel, near the Tower of London. About 40 works of art will be chosen from 5,000 international pieces. The winning art is by children from schools in South Africa,

India and Malawi, and will form the basis of an education programme to run in UK schools and art centres next year.
This event launches the MADaboutART children’s exhibition that has been a year in the

making. During the dinner reception, local schoolchildren will be painting along in response to the art on display. Celebrities and luminaries due to attend include Lady Sarah Chatto, Jordan and David Soul. Soul and cabaret entertainer, Sadie Nine will perform on the night.
As well as the children’s art, other exhibits have been donated including a piece submitted by Michael Levy valued at around £6,000 and original designs for Cher’s tour costumes.
The World Aids Day dinner and exhibition project will fundraise for five organisations: South Africa’s Wola Nani, the Malawi World Medical Fund, the Johannesburg Peer Education Programme, India’s orphanage Manavya and the MADaboutART charity. As well as the young art on display, expect a champagne reception and four-course meal with wine and entertainment. Tickets £65. Tel/fax: 020

8400 9749.
MADaboutART was founded by Larry Gurney. Its aim is to unite children around the world in understanding and fighting HIV and Aids through art and education.
