THT relaunches ‘Get it
checked’ STI campaign
The Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) has relaunched its 2005 ‘Get it checked’ campaign to try and increase gay men’s awareness of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV.
The campaign ads feature sexy images of men in their underwear and the relaunch comes as new HIV and STI infections among gay in the UK remain at record levels.
“Levels of some STIs are still high among gay men and if left untreated they can cause long term health complications,” said Marc Thompson, THT’s deputy head of health promotion: “The message of the campaign is to get checked out and get back out there.”
