Yannick Lawry launches new HIV lifestyle & sexual health podcast

New HIV lifestyle and sexual health podcast by Yannick Lawry

This Spring, Creation Podcasts (owned by GCap – the parent company of Capital Radio and Classic FM) will launch “Positive Life”, an HIV Lifestyle and Sexual Health podcast.

The podcast is the brainchild of, and will be presented by, Yannick Lawry, former Gaydar Radio presenter and Capital Radio producer. Partnering with Positive Nation the podcast will bring the latest news and views on sexual health and HIV to an even wider audience.

When asked about his motive for the podcast, Yannick said:
“Living in London, I think I often take for granted the access I have to sexual health information. Enjoying a social life in the gay community also means that I’m fairly up to date with information about HIV. Positive Nation is an invaluable tool – not only for people living with HIV but for anyone with an interest in sexual health.

Sometimes, however, if you live in an area where understanding about and tolerance towards HIV is minimal – it’s not something you can get access to easily. With Positive Life the podcast, I’m hoping that up-to-date information about advances in HIV care can be covered; that we can indulge debates such as whether it’s right for the government to review Disability Living Allowance for people living with HIV at length, speak to healthcare professionals who can offer help and encouragement, and also to courageous men and women who can share their own inspirational testimonials. I also see the podcast as being a modern, effective and – most importantly - discreet way of reaching the target audience. Everyone needs to be aware of HIV and consider their own sexual health and this information comes from two trustworthy sources.”

The podcast will be hosted on Positive Nation’s website and will be easily accessible from GCap’s many radio stations’ homepages, and users will be able to subscribe via iTunes.
