The London Titans will compete at the International Gay & Lesbian Football World Championship

The International Gay & Lesbian Football World Championship, sponsored by the online dating website, Fitlads.net, will take place in Regent’s Park with competitive and recreational competitions for both male and female teams from all over the world between 24-30 August 2008 and with the finals due to take place at Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium.

Mikey Collins, Chair of London 2008 says, “London 2008 looks set to be the largest gay and lesbian sporting event ever to be held in the UK with over 40 teams taking part, and we are delighted that Fitlads.net is supporting us. The partnership is a great way of promoting football and sport participation to gay men across the country, and we’re looking forward to more people getting involved
with their local teams as the Championship draws nearer.”

London 2008 enjoys the full backing of the Football Association, the Mayor of London, the Gay Football Supporters Network, Visit Britain, Visit London, the Prime Minister, the Department of Culture, Media & Sport and Stonewall, the gay rights lobby group.

Teams have registered from across the UK, Europe, the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Mexico and South America.
