George House Trust moves forward in 2009

George House Trust is looking forward to 2009 as a year of exciting plans and developments. They are offering more courses to increase its support to people living with HIV across North West England, expanding its already extensive services.

Through the Elton John AIDS Foundation they are increasing the support for newly diagnosed gay and bisexual men across the North West through more Newly Diagnosed courses in the evenings. This year they are planning to have more weekend residential courses to increase the confidence, self-esteem, and well-being of HIV positive gay and bisexual men.

With Stepping Stones they are offering a two day course Setting Goals and Getting There in mid February. People thinking about returning to work, education or training, will find this helpful in setting and choosing some personal goals and becoming more work motivated. To join the course you need to be HIV-positive, live in the North West, and currently be on some form of health related benefits.
If you are HIV positive, living in the North West and are interested in any of these courses please get in touch with our Service and Development Manager Colin Armstead on 0161 274 4499 or email colin@ght.org.uk. All the courses are free and reasonable public transport costs are refunded.

The George House Trust also have 75 charity places in the huge 10km Great Manchester Run, around central Manchester and Salford Quays on Sunday 17 May. It’s always a fantastic day, and all members of Team GHT get a running vest, sports massage and join the after-run party. If you’re interested in running for life and raising money for the work of George House Trust, visit www.ght.org.uk or call or email James Fisher 0161 274 4499
