Skins favourite, Nick Hoult, backs the launch of new ethical condom range ‘one

Actor, Nick Hoult, famous for his roles in the E4 show Skins and the film About a Boy, helped launch a brand new line of next generation ethical condoms - the first of its kind in the UK. Nick has joined forces with Global Ethics, the organisation behind the ethical water brand, One water, to launch the One condom range. All profits that Global Ethics make from the condom sales will go towards raising awareness of HIV and AIDS and the funding of testing in rural communities in Africa.

Whilst filming in Swaziland in 2005, Nick witnessed firsthand the impact that HIV and AIDS can have on a community and is the reason is why he has chosen to lend his support to this new ethical condom range.

Nick explained: “According to the United Nations, AIDS is still the biggest threat to Africa’s development.

I find it concerning that in 2008, 1,400 African children under the age of 15 die of an AIDS-related illnesses every single day and that currently more than 15 million children under 18 worldwide have been orphaned as a result of AIDS.”

The One condom range has not only been designed for maximum pleasure in the bedroom but all Global Ethics’ condom profits go towards raising awareness of HIV and AIDS, funding charity partners such as The Donald Woods Foundation.

The One condom range is a fusion of leading manufacturing technology and cutting edge product design. All condoms come in distinct round foil wrappers and are packaged in a stylish silver tin for upmost discretion. There are 120 funky foil wrapper designs to choose from featuring ‘playful’ slogans – a favourite being the cockerel design with the slogan ‘One for the early riser’.

Made with an advanced latex formulation called Sensasure (TM) the One condom is softer, smoother, clearer and purer, providing a safer and more pleasurable experience.

Dave Lewis, Chair of NUS Services, said: “When buying a packet of One condoms, students will not only be getting a great product but helping to address the problems associated with HIV and AIDS. We urge students to buy the One range of condoms over other brands and if they aren’t able to see it on the shelves of their local students’ union, they should ask their Union to order them.”

Nick continued: “We are simply asking current users of condoms to make an educated purchase and choose ‘One’ over their normal brand, in the knowledge that they are helping to address the AIDS and HIV issue in Africa too.”

The One condom range is available for purchase from The Co-Operative, Ethicalsuperstore.com and NUS shops now. The product can be bought as a pack of three in a stylish reusable silver tin and will retail around £3.29.
